Keynote Speech at Dementia UK Admiral Nurses Conference

Dementia Carer Voices are proud to announce that our Project Engagement Lead, Tommy Whitelaw is delivering the plenary session to open the day  at the Dementia UK Admiral Nurses Conference on 20th September 2016 in Nottingham at the Jubilee Campus, University of Nottingham.

The topic this year is ‘Creative Approaches in Dementia Care’ and they are anticipating a full house with approximately 170- 180 Admiral Nurses.

Dementia UK have Admiral Nurses working in a number of different settings ; including supporting families in the Community, supporting care homes and who to deliver relationship centred care by involving families, supporting families in acute hospitals.   They are very keen to develop Admiral Nurse posts in Scotland and feel that their model compliments and fits well with the Dementia Practice Co-ordinator role as part of the ‘8 pillars model’.

You can find some more basic information here

The team are delighted to be opening such a big event and celebrating all the work Nurses do.  Stay tuned on our Twitter @dementiacarervo for a full agenda of the day.

Thank you.

Team DCV 🙂
