Community Nursing – School Nurses NHSGG&C Pledge to Make a Difference

Our tommy had the great privilege last Friday to speak to Community Nursing – School Nurses from NHSGG&C with great thanks to Donna Hunter, Jacqui Wray and all who attended the event at the Beardmore Conference Centre.

 

All the Dementia Carer Voices team would like to thank Donna and NHSGG&C Specialist Children’s Services for the opportunity to attend and speak.

Team Dementia Carer Voices

I pledge to listen more and support carers to families alongside the patient.  Compassion goes a long away.

Be more aware of how the patient’s family is affected and listen to them.  Give them opportunity to tell me about their concerns and fears.

To be compassionate and understanding – To proactively support carers and families when they need us the most.

I pledge that I will be caring and compassionate and give time to listen – Sharon

I pledge to ensure that care I give is patient centred.  To take time to provide high quality family centred care.  To really listen to patients and families – Elizabeth

I promise to listen – Marianne

I pledge to always listen and provide support to all those needing help.  Provide advice support and a caring supportive ear – Joanne

I pledge to listen more and offer support/comfort to people that I know who are living with/caring with dementia in their lives.  To be more aware – Shona

I will do my homework! I.e. find out about people first and foremost before the diagnosis – Victoria

Not just to say I’ll be there I pledge to be the hand on someone’s shoulder – Jacqui

I pledge to ensure I visit my aunt every week instead of thinking what I need to do.  I will ask my uncle for his mobile number to keep communication open – Elaine
